AARC (Asylum & Refugee Care) is a community-led charity based in Aberdeen, dedicated to supporting asylum seekers and refugees as they rebuild their lives in the North East of Scotland. We are entirely volunteer-led, and every service we provide is made possible by the generosity of people like you.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that no one navigating the asylum process has to do so alone. We provide practical essentials such as food parcels, clothing, and toiletries, alongside compassionate support including befriending, help with GP registration, and assistance with legal correspondence.
Since opening our doors, we have supported hundreds of individuals and families from countries including Eritrea, Sudan, Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan. Many of the people we support arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs — and a desperate hope for safety.
AARC is registered in Scotland as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation), number SC052520. We are governed by a board of trustees and follow best practice in all areas of our work.
Whether you want to volunteer, donate, fundraise, or simply learn more, we welcome you to be part of our community.
