AARC is entirely volunteer-led. We simply could not do what we do without the incredible people who give their time, energy, and compassion to support people seeking asylum in Aberdeen. Why Volunteer? Volunteering with AARC is a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, and support individuals who are rebuilding their lives after unimaginable hardship. Whether you have a few hours a week or a few days a month, your contribution makes a real difference. What Volunteers Do: - Collect donations from collection points across the city - Sort and process incoming donations at our hub - Make up care packages for new arrivals - Support with admin tasks, answering phones, and responding to enquiries - Help with social media and website updates - Befriend new arrivals and support them with GP or dentist registration - Help service users write and respond to emails to solicitors and the Home Office Corporate Volunteering: If your company gives teams time to volunteer in the community, we would love to hear from you. Corporate groups can help with donation collections, sorting, care package assembly, and fundraising activities. Getting Started: We provide full training - you will never be asked to do anything you are not comfortable with or trained for. Because of the nature of our work, we follow Safe Recruitment procedures as outlined by Volunteer Scotland. If you are interested in volunteering, visit our volunteering page or email hi@aarc.charity.
